Purpose
Provide an executive level overview of the principles and methodology for establishing a comprehensive Business Continuity Management Program for the organization.
Course Description
This session will highlights the Business Continuity Management (BCM) lifecycle by outlining the roles and responsibilities of organizational executive management and its business functions, services and program owners. The emphasis is to provide a solid understanding of the process for building a business continuity plan to protect the organization’s critical business in the event of a business interruption. The workshop will also outline the expected deliverables to meet the objectives of a business continuity management program.
Target Audience
The organization’s executive management who are ultimately responsible for survivability and sustainability of the organization’s services and programs and have a need to understand what their role is with establishing a business continuity management program.
Course Objectives
The session will be focused on presenting the principles and concepts of establishing a business continuity management program for organization. Establishing a policy and initiating a BCM project accomplish this. The instructors will present the methodology outlining the roles, responsibilities and the expected deliverables from a management perspective.
Deliverables expected from this course
An increase in the participant’s:
- Awareness and understanding of the BCM methodology used in private/public sector with realistic expectations for the process,
- Understanding and commitment to the need for a BCM plan at each essential site,
- Ability to communicate with and motivate management to initiate a BCM project,
- Ability to act as a Project Leader on a BCM Planning Project.
